About Me

I discovered UX while earning my bachelor's degree in psychology at Spelman College. When I was there I spent most of my free time going between Spelman's art department and maker space and, after taking a Creative Design and Technology course, I realized human-centered design combined my love of psychology and creative technology with the essential element of empathy and understanding. I chose to study at DePaul to gain experience with quantitative and qualitative design research methods and their practical applications at each stage of the design process. While there I worked in the Equity and Health Innovations Lab, where I contributed to research on community-based design and the application of an Afrofuturist lens to speculative design to prompt discussion of racial equity in codesign. Encouraged to continue my education and research, I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in human-centered computing at Georgia Tech.

Now I enjoy having opportunities to explore and turn over new theories and design tools. When I'm not busy with that, I can be found curled up with a good book or catching up on podcasts. I look forward to continued exploration and growth as a researcher.
